Previous Sunday after eating my lunch I turned on my tv and was shuffling through the channels. As nothing decent was coming at that time so I decided to watch tv news. And, I was shocked after reading a news headline.
Sushant Singh Rajput has hung himself in Bandra apartment!
Firstly, I thought it must be fake news because some days ago there was one rumor about actress Mumtaz that she passed away due to cancer or something.
Then, one of my friends called me and told me”Have you heard the news about Sushant? That he did suicide.”I checked other channel and all were saying the same thing.
I still can’t believe the man who was full of life, curiosity, and a talented person can do this. I thought he has all the things in the world; fame, money, and all the luxurious thing why would he do things like this. What would be the reason?
Nevertheless, we lost a gem of the entertainment industry. Nobody can replace you brother. Rest In Peace!
Actually, the reason for his death was depression.
Thus, I researched on this topic and got to know many things behind it. So, today I would like to share with you some information about depression and how one can deal with it.
What is Depression?
I will explain to you in simple language. As a human, we have some expectations. For instance financial freedom, getting a high paying job, marrying to girl or boy who do you love ..etc.
So, if something does not happen the way you want then you will think you are looser, you will think there is no purpose to live. You will have suicidal thoughts. This is depression. And, let me get this straight being sad or being anxious is not the same as being depressed.
Who gets easily affected by it?
People who do not have a job or business:- why? because every human need purpose in their life. If you are not doing work or business or job then you will not have any purpose of getting out of the bed, you will not have an appropriate structure of the day.
And, you know what happens after that?
You will commence overthinking about the stuff. You will lose the sense of time; your sleeping time, and waking up time will be uneven which will cause sleep deprivation. Which will cause depression
People who do not do exercise or any physical activity or who live sedentary life:-
You know that while doing exercise you can reduce your cortisol level which is your stress hormone and increase your dopamine level by producing serotonin which is your feel-good hormone. You are not doing it which means you are living a sedentary life. As a result, it will have the opposite effect on your hormones.
So, if you are living this kind of lifestyle read this blog till the end to get the solution of it.
Follow below-given things to save your self from this disease call depression:-
Get a job or start a Business:-
Firstly, if you have lost your job or your business. Then, find the next job or thing you can find. Do not spend to much time whining and grieving about it. Dude this life stuff happens, you have to move on. I know that it is not that easy as it sounds, but remember one thing in your life.
If you have a problem then, find a solution
You don’t have to worry about it
If it does not have any solution then, forget about the problem
You do not have to worry about it.
So, let me cut to the chase, why I am saying this because if you have a job or business then you will have one purpose in your life. Your mind will be busy and you will not have that extra suicidal thought.
There are some people who argue that they do not like the work they are doing, I would like to tell them just ask the person who lost his/her job and has been trying to get the job for 2 months. You will love your work.
On the other hand, I am not saying you should be stuck on your same job which you do not like to do. What I am saying is you can do side hustle while doing the job.
For instance, you are working as a software engineer. And, your passion is writing or painting or teaching. You can do this as a side hustle. If you think that you are getting your expected amount of money from your side business then you can leave your current primary job.
You can do it dude, if your intentions are right. just go for it.
Start doing physical and mental exercise:-
Commence doing exercise and stick to the routine. For instance, I do 100 pushups every day. I am not saying that you have to do the same but just take an action. Start with 5 or 10 pushups. Then slowly increase your count. I will assure you that you will not only become fit, but you will be ecstatic.
You can also play some games which are good for your brain. For instance, chess, sudoku, scrabble or some brain teasers etc..
This is because while doing exercise your body produces serotonin hormone which is a feel-good hormone and reduces cortisol level which is a stress hormone.
Thus, you will be salubrious both mentally and physically.
Take care of your nutrition:-
Eat the heaviest meal in your breakfast. It should include a sufficient amount of protein and carbohydrates. I repeat do not miss your breakfast.
Add some omega-rich food in your diet. For instance, nuts, flaxseeds, chia seeds, fish etc. It is good for your mind as well as your heart.
I would like to share one more thing. For your information, I have not tried this one and I never will be. This is because I am a vegetarian; I eat and stuff made form eggs, but that is all.
So, yesterday I saw one video on youtube. It was from the Joe Rogan Experience clip. In which Jordan Peterson has explained how her daughter come out of depression by changing her diet. Actually , she commenced a carnivore diet.
What is a carnivore? If you consume only meat in your diet. For instance, beef, chicken, fish. You got my point right. And, after that, he has tried it on himself. And, in six months he lost 50 pounds, he got rid of psoriasis, his skin started to glow. You can watch all in the below-given link.
On the contrary, there are some other schools of thought. People who are more into spirituality. They believe that after omitting meat from their diet, they become more ecstatic.
They say that when you consume meat, you are not only consuming meat but you are also consuming the memory of that animal. The pain it went through in a lifetime, somehow you feel the pain. You know sometimes you feel depressed without any reason. Then, this could be one of the reasons.
Nevertheless, this is on you which way you want to choose. If you are vegetarian then you have only one way and if you are non-vegetarian then you can try both and see which way works for you. And, let me know in the comment section.
